Perfect Your Insanity Workout Moves

After completing cardio power and resistance today, I thought it would be appropriate to share this very relevant video recently posted to the Shaun T Fitness YouTube channel. The video shows Shaun T in his living room (that’s a HUGE TV!) demonstrating proper form for the following 3 Insanity workout moves: 1-2-3 Heismans, V push-ups and tricep ball push-ups, all three of which are featured in the cardio power and resistance workout. At only about 4 minutes, I would say this is required watching for everyone currently doing the Insanity workout.

What are you waiting for? Take the Insanity Challenge today!

Proper Insanity Workout Moves Form #

Video Summary #

When doing 1-2-3 Heismans you should be taking 3 steps and bringing your knee straight up (i.e. right knee up to right pectoral muscle, left knee to left pectoral muscle). I was doing it all wrong! While haven’t been twisting my body, I have been bringing my knee up at a pretty significant angle (i.e. right knee to left pectoral and vice versa). Oops…

When doing V push-ups, start from plank and walk your feet as close to your belly button as your flexibility allows. Turn you fingers in toward each other and do the push-ups with your elbows moving outward. You can bend your knees a bit if needed as long as you are keeping your head in between your arms. I’ve got this one down :)

And last (but not least) is the tricep ball push-up. Start in the same way as the V push-ups and then bend your knees and bring them in toward your elbows. Each push-up should be performed with your elbows at the side of your knees and focusing on your triceps. I can personally use a little work on this one as well.

It is important to make sure you have proper form when performing all of the Insanity workout moves. This will help prevent injury and also increase the efficiency of your workouts. If you were struggling with these moves before, make sure you have watched the video and practice them before your next workout. And if you haven’t already, make sure to check out the Shaun T Fitness channel on Youtube.

Lastly, I am still planning on a diet update that I mentioned in my previous post but as I began to write it yesterday  it led to a lot of further reading and has now grown much larger than originally expected. Check back tomorrow for that.

Until next time!
